"Project Stadium" Helps Rubbermaid Commercial Products Win Sales at Patriots’ Stadium

Winchester, Va. (August 22, 2002) – "Project Stadium" is the electronic systems-selling approach that earned Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) the position of specified supplier of waste containers and most of the foodservice items at the newly constructed New England Patriots stadium in Foxboro, Massachusettes. "Stadium management/builders tend to focus on larger issues and product specification becomes an afterthought, so sharing our knowledge and expertise is a real service to them," explains Mark Shuford, Business Development Manager for the entertainment and transportation markets. RCP’s competitors do not offer this service. Shuford also cites Rubbermaid’s strong brand recognition as an advantage in many stadium deals.

RCP’s rugged outdoor waste containers will be placed in the main concourse areas and the stadium exterior while more classic waste containers will serve the suites level. RCP products were chosen above those of RCP’s strongest competitors.

"Project Stadium," a unique presentation tool created by RCP, allows Business Development Managers to show buyers particular areas of a stadium with appropriate RCP products. The locker room, for example, may show properly placed storage containers, cleaning products, and closet organizers. "Project Stadium" is responsible for winning RCP products a place in virtually every stadium contacted, most recently Seattle Seahawks Stadium, Seattle, WA; Reliant Stadium, Houston, TX (Houston Texans Football); Comerica Park, Detroit, MI (Detroit Tigers Baseball); PNC Park, Pittsburgh, PA (Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball); and Invesco Field, Denver, CO. (Denver Broncos Football).
