Rubbermaid Commercial Products Partners With AmSan to Win Healthsouth Business
Winchester, Va. (August 22, 2002) – Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP) has partnered with AmSan, a subsidiary of American Sanitary Incorporated that recently won a 3-year corporate account agreement with Healthsouth, to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of janitorial/sanitary solutions that will address key challenges faced by Healthsouth and the overall healthcare industry. The AmSan and RCP sales force will jointly call on Healthsouth's 500 largest facilities comprised of hospitals and surgery centers.
Over the past several years, government and industry laws, regulations, and standards have become considerably stringent, dictating the methods of daily tasks such as biohazardous waste disposal, recycling, and floor care, which demands specific products to avoid cross contamination. Although OSHA has not mandated ergonomic standards, it will begin this year issuing industry-specific guidelines to reduce repetitive-stress injuries in the workplace. Other voluntary industry procedures, including the most efficient way to stock a service cart, improve productivity or reduce waste.
"We’re excited at the opportunity to learn more about the industry’s changing standards and product needs. Our current product offering answers to ergonomic and safety requirements, but we’re seeing the potential for many new products as new regulations are put in place," explains Slezak.
RCP will also partner with AmSan, Healthsouth, and other industry leaders on a Product Innovation Lab located in one of Healthsouth’s premier hospitals. The lab will serve as a test bed for installation and demonstration of solutions that will then be replicated across the Healthsouth family of facilities.
