Rubbermaid Recognized for Humanitarian Impact
WINCHESTER, VA, (April 20, 2006) The American Red Cross (ARC) sent representatives from their national and local Winchester, Virginia offices to confer their highest organizational honor on Rubbermaid Commercial Products, LLC (RCP). The Circle of Humanitarians Award, presented by Laurie Rhinehart, director of Disaster Fundraising for the American Red Cross, was accepted by Larry McIsaac, president of RCP.
Ms. Rhinehart expressed appreciation for assistance provided in the wake of the destruction visited upon the nation by Hurricane Katrina. The response to the devastation was the largest ever managed by the ARC, and involved establishing and maintaining 1,200 emergency shelters across 27 states, and delivering services to more than half a million people.
Accepting the award on behalf of RCP, Larry McIsaac said, "Once again, we have reason to be proud of our organization. Taking the lead in times of great need is part of the character of a great company... Of a leader. In this event, it was particularly heartening to see associates from across our organization, in our Cleveland, Tennessee facility as well as here in Winchester, eager to make personal contributions, and have RCP play a meaningful part in the relief. We're very grateful to the Red Cross for clearing the path, enabling help to get to people in need."
